UMED Survey Deadline to fill out: May 31
UMED District Plan Open House Tuesday, June 4, 5:30 p.m. Wendler Junior High School (2905 Lake Otis Parkway)
The UMED District Plan will guide growth, development, preservation and management efforts through the implementation of the policies and strategies in the Anchorage 2020 - Anchorage Bowl Comprehensive Plan and other approved plans, policies and programs. The plan will also provide a framework for the development of educational, health, residential, commercial and public infrastructure by organizations, the development community, nonprofits and other landowners within the plan area.
The Municipality of Anchorage, with the assistance of Alaska Public Television, APU, UAA, Providence, and South Central Foundation, is distributing the UMED Survey to community members. The survey closes on May 31, 2013. The results will be available on the UMED website by mid-July. A map of the UMED District planning area is available here to assist you as you answer the survey questions.
Public input is an important component of the planning effort. This survey is a valuable way for our team to hear from you. Where you live, how you access the UMED District, what you do while you are in the UMED District and what services, housing opportunities and recreation elements you would like to see there, will greatly assist our team in developing a comprehensive vision for the future.
The next public meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, June 4, 5:30 p.m., at Wendler Junior High School (2905 Lake Otis Parkway). Stay in touch on UMED planning issues and developments at the UMED District Plan blog.
