Boosted by NCAA Championships finishes in four sports last month, University of Alaska Anchorage has risen to a program-record No. 5 ranking in the Learfield Sports Director's Cup standings, placing the Seawolves among the top 2 percent of all NCAA Division II programs.

Following the completion of the NCAA Winter Championships, the latest rankings were released Thursday by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics at the two-thirds point in the 2013-14 campaign. The rankings, which quantify the national success of all 315 Div. II programs, will be finalized after the completion of the Spring Championships season in June.

"Being ranked in the top 5 is a direct result of the excellent student-athletes and coaches we have in Seawolf Athletics," said UAA athletic director Keith Hackett. "They represent our institution and community in a most positive way, and their commitment to constant improvement has shined through on the field of play."
