Former College of Business and Public Policy Dean George "Hayden" Green passed away this past week. Please see the below letter for more information.

"Dear UAA Community,

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of George "Hayden" Green, former dean of UAA's College of Business and Public Policy. Dean Green came to UAA in 1974 and served UAA for 28 years as professor, associate dean and dean of CBPP in 1995 until his retirement in 2002. It was my privilege to follow Dean Green as dean of CBPP. Dean Green's legacy at UAA and CBPP is great. Among his accomplishments include developing a major program in global logistics management, introducing a B.B.A. in global logistics, introducing an M.S. in global supply chain management and receipt of $5M from Elmer Rasmuson to endow a chair in economics.

Dean Green led a full life, dedicated not only to his work at the university, but also to his family, church and community.

A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 15, 4 p.m., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2240 Baxter Road in Anchorage. There will be a reception directly afterward in the Cultural Hall.

Please join me in extending our deepest condolences to Dean Green's family, friends, colleagues and all those who knew him well.

Sincerely, Rashmi Prashad"
