Brown Bag Session: Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

by Michelle Saport  |

Thursday, Nov. 13, 1-2 p.m. Lyla Richards Conference Room (Student Union, Room 103)

The Office of Student Financial Assistance will host a brown bag session on Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). The event is for all employees interested in learning what the SAP requirements are for financial aid recipients and why the university is required to monitor it. We'll discuss the scenarios in which students lose financial aid eligibility due to their G.P.A., completion ratio and/or maximum timeframe in their degree program. We'll show how different grades affect academic progress outcomes and discuss partnerships with the Office of Student Financial Assistance that can increase student access and persistence. Policies and procedures surrounding the appeal process will also be reviewed.
