'Kitchens in Crisis: Food, Enemies and Globalization,' March 19

Though globalization brings the world closer to us, it can also contribute to conflict and heightened fear of the other. How might this be reflected in out culinary preferences? How do we understand cuisines of those cultures with whom we may be in military conflict? Unpalatable cuisines and enemy kitchens?

Guest lecturer is Anita Mannur, Ph.D., associate professor of English and Asian/Asian American studies and director of women's, gender and sexuality studies at Miami University in Ohio.
