Nov. 4, 2016: Volunteers wanted for Preview Day

by Michelle Saport  |

Preview Day is approaching fast, and we are looking for volunteers to join us for another successful Preview Day, coming up on Nov. 4.

Preview Day is a UAA Recruitment event aimed at providing potential incoming students with an opportunity to experience what UAA has to offer all in one day. It gives them the opportunity to explore programs, organizations and resources that they might follow throughout their path here at the university.

As volunteers, we ensure everything goes as planned. We have two opportunities open for our volunteers: morning check-in/registration and general event support.

Our morning check-in volunteers will be manning booths and helping our potential students pick their sessions for the day, from 7:15-9 a.m.

After registration, general event support involves volunteers guiding participants to their registered sessions. After the start of the session, we need volunteers to sit in designated sessions to conduct a brief assessment as well as act as a liaison for presenters and Preview Day staff. Some volunteers will even assist in preparing for lunch and our closing ceremony. Further details about specific tasks will be given out closer to the event date.

For those who would like to be a general event support volunteer, we have divided it up into two separate blocks, Block A and Block B. Block A will be from 9-11:15 a.m., and Block B will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. If so inclined, sign up for morning registration and general event support!

Preview Day is an exceptional opportunity for our incoming potential students, and we can't do it without the help of our volunteers! Please look forward to volunteer orientations leading up to Preview Day. We hope to see you there!
