The University of Alaska Anchorage has announced that Kurt Haider will return as the voice of the Seawolves hockey team for the 2017-18 season.

"I'm very excited to have the opportunity once again to call the hockey play-by-play for the Seawolves," said Kurt Haider. "It's really pretty amazing to realize that it will be my 20th season with the program. I'm humbled and honored to be back."

Haider first broadcasted games for UAA in 1996-97 when he broadcasted both basketball and hockey games. He served as the voice of the Seawolves for 20 years and will broadcast his 700th UAA game in 2017-18. He stepped away from UAA to serve as the voice of the Alaska Aces of the East Coast Hockey League for two seasons (2015-17) before rejoining the Seawolves this season.

"We are pleased and proud to have Kurt Haider back as the voice of Seawolf hockey," said interim athletic director Tim McDiffett. "He's in a class by himself and we're honored that he will once again be in the booth calling our games."

Haider will serve as the voice of the Seawolves for the club's 17 home games, which will be broadcasted on WCHA.tv and throughout Alaska on GCI Channel 907 (high definition) and 1 (standard definition).

Streaming packages through Stretch Internet, the official web streaming partner of the WCHA, start at $8.99 for a single game to $104.99 for the WCHA Season Pass.

Alaska Anchorage will host No. 7 North Dakota Oct. 6-7.
