'Radium Girls' pre-show talk set for Oct. 29, 2017

by Michelle Saport  |

Radium Girls at UAAJoin us before Sunday's production of Radium Girls for a pre-show talk with Sharon Emmerichs, Ph.D., and Jennifer Stone, Ph.D. The topic revolves around the themes of "Women in the Workplace" and "The mis-understanding of women's health." This is a free pre-show lecture and will take place on the second floor of the Fine Arts building.

Pre-Show Talk: Sunday, Oct. 29, 3:45 p.m.

Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. Written with warmth and humor, Radium Girls offers a wry, unflinching look at the peculiarly American obsessions with health, wealth and the commercialization of science.

The response to Radium Girls has been overwhelming! Come and see the hottest show in town, tickets are still available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, but not for long. Visit ArtsUAA.com for tickets and details.
