CBPP Public Forum: The Value of Education in a Democratic Society Tuesday, Nov. 28, 6-8:30 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307

The UAA Realizing Solutions Forum annually engages community experts, the public and UAA MPA Public Policy-making graduate students in a forum and public discussion on issues that matter. Join us for this year's forum to explore the impact of education on a civil society. (For more background on the event, see: M.P.A. students to host public Realizing Solutions forum.)

The following community experts will participate:

Criminal Justice Honorable Dana Fabe, Alaska Supreme Court Justice Elaine Andrews, Alaska Superior Court Judge

Education Abbe Hensley, Executive Director of Best Beginnings Dr. Mark Stock, Deputy Superintendent of Anchorage School District

Immigration Dr. Mara Kimmel, co-founder of the Alaska Institute for Justice

Economic Development Bill Popp, CEO of Anchorage Economic Development

Sustainability and Resilience Chris Rose, founder and executive director of REAP-Renewable Energy Alaska Project of Alaska

Media Charles Wohlforth, Alaska Dispatch News columnist and Alaska Public Media host

Health Dr. Thomas Nighswander, Alaska Family Practice Specialist, teacher, engaged service as physician in the Malawi Children's Village

Social Justice and Civil Engagement Libby Roderick, singer, songwriter, recording artist, activist and teacher Alyse Galvin, citizen organizer in education, health & fiscal responsibility
