Hungry & Homeless in College webinar and Think Tank discussion Tuesday, April 24, 10 a.m.-Noon Student Union, Den

More than half of today's community college students and 40 percent of students at a four-year institution have experienced basic needs insecurity (Wisconsin HOPE Lab Survey). The numbers are staggering. Are we prepared to support UAA students' basic need insecurities, so they can persist and meet their academic goals?

Join the UAA's Food Insecurity Working Group & Homeless Student Solutions Coalition for the Hungry & Homeless in College Webinar and Think Tank discussion! Provided by Karen Richie and Dr. Michael Day of Indiana University, we will seek to: Understand the impact basic needs insecurity has on student success; assess current student needs and identify gaps in care; and work to foster community and campus partnerships reducing basic needs insecurity and supporting students' well-being and academic success.

Feedback during the Think Tank discussion will help to inform the short- and long-term priorities of the Food Insecurity Working Group & Homeless Student Solutions Coalition. For more information, please reach out to Kojin Tranberg at dktranberg@alaska.edu.
