'Matter, Anti-Matter, and Doesn't Matter' on display in the ARC Gallery through March 7, 2019

Graham Dane's paintings are found on the way to somewhere else - they are never expected. They are generated and discovered as a direct reflection of Dane's creative process. They begin with a combination of elements from several drawings, which are then allowed to unfold in paint. The final work is left open to suggestion/possibilities for as long as possible until a resolution seems imminent. The paintings are a play between chaos, randomness, and control. Between the intuitive and the systematic. The hidden and the obvious.

Matter, Anti-Matter, and Doesn't Matter is on view Jan. 22-March 7, in the ARC Gallery, located in the lobby of the UAA/APU Consortium Library (3211 Providence Drive, Anchorage).
