Alaskans invited to comment on higher education issues

by Michelle Saport  |

Alaskans are invited to voice their concerns about issues facing the University of Alaska during a public testimony with the University of Alaska Board of Regents from 4-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19. The two-hour session gives any Alaskan the opportunity to comment on issues such as the Governor's proposed budget cuts to UA, input on UAA's School of Education accreditation status and other higher education issues. To participate, call 1-866-726-0757.

The Board of Regents' Academic and Student Affairs, and Facilities and Land Management committees will meet Feb. 21-22 in Fairbanks. To listen in on committee meetings, go to alaska.edu/bor/live. However, there is no opportunity for public testimony at committee meetings.

The full Board of Regents meeting is slated for Feb. 28-March 1 in Anchorage, and one-hour of public testimony is planned on Feb. 28.

The agenda and meeting materials can be found at BoardDocs.

Public testimony is aired live on KUAC2.

More information on the call-in session is available at the Board of Regents website.

Written testimony is accepted at any time and is shared with the board and the president. Please submit to: ua-bor@alaska.edu.
