Assistant Director of the Chugiak-Eagle River Campus & Director of Military Programs Mel Kalkowski will be retiring June 30, 2019. Working in both instructional and leadership positions at UAA for 44 years, Mel has always demonstrated a passion for helping the university and its students succeed. Whether he was providing instruction of Journalism and Public Communications courses, serving on university councils, assisting with Commencement, or helping students at JBER and the military community with their educational goals, his efforts at UAA are greatly appreciated.
