UAA Amazing Stories: Tyler Fox

Biological sciences grad student Tyler Fox and Professor Brandon Briggs are making viral transport media to supply Alaska's COVID-19 testing centers in UAA's new Advanced Instrumentation for Microbiome Studies (AIMS) core facility in the ConocoPhillips Integrated Science Building.

After earning his degree last fall, and with plans to continue his science education at UAA, Tyler Fox started work early this year as a research technician in UAA’s brand new AIMS Core Facility. He could never have foreseen that by the time the lab opened in March, he would be playing an important role in Alaska’s response to a global pandemic.
