REMINDER: Masks are required in all university facilities and in all classrooms. View the official UAA mask policy for information about exceptions and accommodations due to medical conditions or job-related hazards that would prevent mask use.
Recent scientific studies indicate that masks can help reduce the spread of the virus, especially given that a significant portion of individuals with COVID-19 are capable of transmitting the disease to others without showing any symptoms through everyday activities such as talking in close quarters. Based on this information, the CDC recommends wearing cloth face masks in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
