Alaska INBRE announces request for Curriculum Development Proposals

INBRE invites full-time faculty at a UA campus to apply for a curriculum development award. These awards will pay faculty salary (at their existing rate) for 2-4 weeks of time and effort spent on curriculum development, as well as up to $8,000 for supplies and services.

Message from UAA Chancellor Cathy Sandeen

The University of Alaska is implementing preventative measures to ensure the health and safety of our community. This includes canceling in-person gatherings of more than 10 people, committing to alternate delivery of classes for the rest of this semester, closing residence halls (with only rare exceptions), moving to remote work for employees and making provisions for child care leave while schools remain closed.

COVID-19: 3/15 Update to UA Travel Policy

On March 15, the university community received an email from President Johnsen with updated guidance on the University of Alaska’s travel policy in light of the potential spread of COVID-19. According to this revised policy, if you have traveled anywhere outside Alaska within the past 14 days, you must avoid all UA facilities and self-observe until the full 14-day waiting period is complete.

Updated Student Union and Information Desk hours

The Student Union will remain open March 16–20 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, the Information Desk will be operated on limited hours from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

As the situation continues to unfold, On-Campus Living (OCL) wanted to provide additional information as we move forward with the University of Alaska’s decision to close all residential communities by March 17, 2020. We are asking that all students fill out the COVID-19 University Housing Form.
