The start of the fall semester is just around the corner and I’m emailing to remind you that UAA has moved to electronic keyless locks for most of our buildings on the Anchorage campus. The exterior doors of most buildings are locked during business hours and you will need a properly activated WolfCard ID to open the doors.

UAA students order from the UAA TextbookX website and items are shipped to the address you indicate when ordering. Since shipping to Alaska does take a bit longer, complete your ordering as soon as possible.
It’s all right here this fall
Student organizations want you to be a part of their community. They will be hosting opportunities both virtually and in-person so you can find a club or organization for you. These organizations are wonderful ways for you to get involved and connected to campus within your academic major, personal interests and socially.

Aug. 18: Faculty Promotion & Tenure Celebration
Please join us in congratulating those faculty that have received promotion and/or tenure this last academic year. The Faculty Senate will host a digital promotion and tenure celebration on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 4:30–5 p.m.
UAA is not requiring you to be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless you are living on campus this fall. Even so, with 70% of adults in the United States now having at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot, we want to be sure you have information that may be helpful, in case you are currently not vaccinated.
Chromebook and laptops for student check-out
Do you need a laptop? IT Services and the UAA/APU Consortium Library are working together to help you. Chromebooks and laptops are available for students to check out for both short-term and semester-long use.
Clearing pathways of opportunity
This summer, Sean Parnell stepped into the role of UAA chancellor. He's looking forward to fall semester and working with faculty, staff, alumni and university leadership to forge a bright future for Anchorage and Southcentral’s hometown university and its students.

Support for those affected by events in Afghanistan and Haiti
The recent earthquake in Haiti and the upheaval in Afghanistan have caused upset for many who have lived, worked, volunteered and served in these areas. If you need personal support during this time, students can reach out to the UAA Student Health and Counseling Center or Dean of Students Office and employees can utilize one of the employee support counseling resources.
