An AK ALH volunteer immunizes an assisted living home resident

For the past four years, UAA pharmacy students have devoted two weekends annually to administer flu vaccines to vulnerable seniors. This year, they were also able to bring the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to provide booster shots thanks to partnerships with Soldotna Professional Pharmacy and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services.

UA Giving Day surpasses $1 million in annual 49-hour fundraiser

In an annual 49-hour fundraising event, hundreds of Alaskans donated more than $1 million to the University of Alaska’s three universities. Donations from more than 1,600 alumni, community members, corporate partners, faculty, and staff ranged from $5 to $100,000 and were designated to support specific programs, scholarship funds or research enterprises.

Campus Facilities Master Plan Forum

UAA is beginning an update to the Campus Facilities Master Plan and needs your help! The Master Plan will ensure that the long- and short-term planning of the physical campus environment aligns with the aspirations of UAA 2025. An updated Master Plan will include processes to ensure we have adequate infrastructure to accelerate excellence and continually improve UAA facilities and space.

UAA Aviation Technology Division is looking for part-time, temporary Ramp Assistants to assist with ramp services such as snow plowing and aircraft detailing, as well as daily care of aircraft. This is a Temporary Technical, Grade 73 position.

New Alaska aquaculture permitting website and guidance document

Current and prospective aquatic farmers in Alaska have a valuable new resource to guide them through submitting, amending, renewing or transferring an aquatic farm application. UAF's Alaska Sea Grant and NOAA Fisheries Alaska Region have launched a web portal and printable manual to assist applicants with the aquatic farm leasing and permitting process.

Celebrating Veterans Day at UAA

Active duty military and veteran students graduating from UAA receive red, white and blue honor cords to wear with their cap and gown at commencement. This initiative was started by former Chancellor Tom Case, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, in 2012.

Veterans Day gives us the opportunity to pay tribute to and honor the brave individuals who, throughout our nation’s history, made great sacrifices to serve our country. These veterans gave willingly and unselfishly from the Revolutionary War through modern times in Iraq, Afghanistan and beyond.

NCURA SPA II (Virtual) Workshop coming to UAA!

For more experienced research administrators, NCURA created "Level II: Sponsored Project Administration-Critical Issues in Research Administration" (commonly referred to as "SPA II"). The workshop occur virtually at UAA Nov. 15-18, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. AKST.
