Chromebooks available to UAA departments

by UAA IT Services  |

UAA IT Services has several HP Chromebooks available for reallocation to departments at no cost.

Chromebooks have limited functionality and work best for web browsing, accessing other tools through virtual computers. For student usage, Chromebooks work best for basic class participation. The applications that can be run are limited, but they can run any web-based application such as Blackboard, Zoom, Email, O365 online, Google Docs, and can login to a UAA Virtual Computer to run other applications remotely. Chromebooks cannot run RPNow, which is used for proctored exams when required by a faculty member or the Testing Center.

If your department is interested in receiving some Chromebooks, please email tlpikey@alaska.edu by Friday, Sept. 9, 2022 with details on your use-case, estimated quantity, and if there’s any timelines when you may need them by.

Note: there are a limited number of devices available and not all requests may be able to be fulfilled.
