Lecture by Representative Genevieve Mina

by Green & Gold News  |

In honor of Women's History Month, the Women's and Gender’s Studies Program and the Department of Political Science are proud to present this year's William H. Seward lecture. This year we are pleased to have Alaska State Representative Genevieve Mina as our lecturer. Representative Mina is a graduate of UAA's Department of Political Science and was elected to her current position in 2022. Prior to holding elected office Representative Mina was very involved with state and local campaigns, as well working for the Anchorage Assembly and the Alaska State legislature. Representative Mina is a lifelong House District 19 resident and serves the Anchorage neighborhoods of Airport Heights, Mountain View and Russian Jack - the most diverse schools and census tracts in the nation. One of her long-standing passions is health care policies. She is the proud daughter of Filipino immigrants.
