Fall 2014 Chartwell Lecture: 'Deserve Victory: The Statesmanship of Winston S. Churchill'

Justin D. Lyons, associate professor of history and political science at Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio, will deliver the next talk in the Chartwell Lecture Series. In a lecture titled "Deserve Victory: The Statesmanship of Winston S. Churchill," Lyons will consider the classical idea of statesmanship and ask whether Churchill deserves to be called a statesman

Free parking is available at UAA after 7.30 p.m. in the Central Parking Garage or in lots adjacent to the Social Sciences Building.

The Chartwell Lecture Series, which takes its name from Winston S. Churchill's country house in Kent, offers stimulating programs on a wide range of subjects in the humanities and liberal arts to citizens of Alaska. Organized by the UAA Department of Political Science, its lectures are free and open to the public. They thrive because of the interest and support of their audience.
