Wildfire hazard map gives residents important risk information

Smoke from wildfires on the Kenai Peninsula descends on Anchorage's U-Med District.

A new online map reflects wildfire hazard potential within the Municipality of Anchorage. UAA assistant professor Jennifer Schmidt created the map as part of a National Science Foundation project to develop educational materials and tools to help residents and communities address environmental hazards.

Health Sciences faculty member receives NIH grant to develop hope-based health curriculum

Assistant professor of health sciences Britteny M. Howell received an R15 research grant from the National Institute on Aging to train 12 student research assistants to develop a health program to improve older adults' fruit and vegetable intake and physical activity.

Our Seawolf Transfer Trail Brown Bag scheduled for May 11 at 1 p.m. has been canceled. However, just a reminder, it takes as little as 10 minutes to determine how credits will transfer to UAA.
