If our services might be helpful to you or someone you know, please call for information or to schedule an appointment.
The Psychological Services Center (PSC) at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) is the training clinic for graduate students in the MS Clinical Psychology Program and the PhD Program in Clinical-Community Psychology. The Psychological Services Center Director is Dr. Hannah Ekstrom.
Services
The UAA Psychological Services Center offers both online and in-person sessions.
Please note that all session are by appointment only.
Client privacy and confidentiality is observed. Students are welcomed in the UAA PSC but clients do not need to be affiliated with UAA to receive services. Because this is a training clinic that is closed on weekends, holidays, and school breaks, the Psychological Services Center is generally not a good match for people who have severe crises.
The UAA Psychological Services Center is closed for all UAA observed holidays and semester breaks.
Fees, Sliding Fee Scale, Payment Options, and Estimate of Costs
Although we are committed to providing high quality clinical services, the clinic's primary purpose is clinical training; therefore fees are modest and adjustable. There is no cost for a screening to see if we are a good fit to provide you with services. Following a screening, if you are accepted for services, we will discuss fees with you (see attachment) and discuss the cost of care, including providing you with an estimate of the cost of services. All clients are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate that will be given in writing and verbally upon request. While the fees are set, we offer a sliding fee scale (see attachment) that may reduce the amount you pay. You may be eligible for a fee discount based on household size and income and any unusual circumstances. Your clinician will describe how to make online payments.

Right to Receive a Good Faith Estimate of Expected Charges Notice
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance
or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of
any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests,
prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at
least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health
care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before
you schedule an item or service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you
can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-877-696-6775
