Hey, Seawolves! We made it! Campus Kickoff 2021 is this Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at the Alaska Airlines Center Plaza from 1-4 p.m. As always, community safety is our #1 priority in hosting UAA’s first community event back on campus.
Look for our welcome desks throughout campus. We can help you find your classroom, learn how to access buildings and services, and provide updates on available services and supports. We can't wait to see you!
Please remember to wear a face mask while inside any UAA building. Regardless of your vaccination status, all individuals must wear a mask while inside university buildings. When you are outdoors and on university property, masks are only required when it is not possible to maintain six feet of distance from other people or when mandated by an event- or location-specific mitigation plan.
I’m emailing because I want to be sure that you know that UAA has so many ways to help you succeed in your classes. After all, that’s the reason you are here and I’m happy to share with you three ideas that I think can help you during the semester.
The start of the fall semester is just around the corner and I’m emailing to remind you that UAA has moved to electronic keyless locks for most of our buildings on the Anchorage campus. The exterior doors of most buildings are locked during business hours and you will need a properly activated WolfCard ID to open the doors.
UAA students order from the UAA TextbookX website and items are shipped to the address you indicate when ordering. Since shipping to Alaska does take a bit longer, complete your ordering as soon as possible.
Student organizations want you to be a part of their community. They will be hosting opportunities both virtually and in-person so you can find a club or organization for you. These organizations are wonderful ways for you to get involved and connected to campus within your academic major, personal interests and socially.
Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend open forums with finalists for the Executive Director of Alaska Native Education & Outreach position at UAA.
Please join us in congratulating those faculty that have received promotion and/or tenure this last academic year. The Faculty Senate will host a digital promotion and tenure celebration on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 4:30–5 p.m.
UAA is not requiring you to be vaccinated against COVID-19, unless you are living on campus this fall. Even so, with 70% of adults in the United States now having at least one COVID-19 vaccination shot, we want to be sure you have information that may be helpful, in case you are currently not vaccinated.
