The key to Seawolf success? Knowing when to ask for help.

Dear Seawolves:

I’m emailing because I want to be sure that you know that UAA has so many ways to help you succeed in your classes. After all, that’s the reason you are here and I’m happy to share with you three ideas that I think can help you during the semester.

You can turn to your peers for help.

  • If you are a first-year student looking for some guidance about how to navigate the university or a more advanced student wanting some career advice, you should check out the Seawolf Mentor program. By signing up for a peer mentor, you can soon be talking to a UAA student or graduate who can provide helpful guidance, advice and support. Already know your way around UAA? Then please consider signing up to become a mentor.
  • Want to get rewarded for studying and helping out your peers? The CircleIn app helps you study and share resources with your classmates and get organized in your courses, all while earning rewards like gift cards to Amazon, Sephora and Best Buy!

Your professors and academic advisors want to see you.

  • Students who connect with their faculty and see their academic advisors are more likely to stay in school. Use the Seawolf Tracks mobile app to make an appointment with your academic advisor or faculty member. The app also helps you locate all of the student support resources on campus and resolve holds on your account.

The UAA/APU Consortium Library and Learning Commons will help you find the answers.

  • And don’t forget about the faculty, staff and students who work in the Learning Commons and the Consortium Library. When you are feeling stuck, help is available on campus or virtually.

So, if you’re feeling a little lost, stuck on a problem, or just want some advice, please reach out. Your peers, profs and advisors are standing by to help.

Best wishes for a wonderful fall semester,
Claudia Lampman
