The Southern Region EMS Council (SREMSC) recently awarded the Paramedic Technology Program at Matanuska-Susitna College the 2013 Above & Beyond Award for the 2012-13 paramedic class' quick, life-saving response to a fellow student who experienced a cardiac arrest during class. According to the council, "Their prompt and successful actions speak to the level of training in the paramedic program that has fostered such an attitude of readiness and prepared students for life-threatening situations."
