On-Campus Living is pleased to announce the newest member of their team, Ryan-Jasen Anders Henne, M.Ed., who will serve as director of the Department of Residence Life. The Department of Residence Life and University Housing represent On-Campus Living. In partnership with students, faculty and the staff of other campus offices, On-Campus Living strives to create a living/learning community environment that promotes respect for a comfortable, safe and diverse population, and supports the cultural, social, intellectual, physical and emotional development of UAA students. We provide active opportunities for residents to become empowered as community members and evolving individuals who contribute to their own positive living/learning experience.

Ryan-Jasen holds a B.S. from East Carolina University in communication and business, and an M.Ed. from Grand Valley State University. Since graduate school, he's worked in higher education in Los Angeles, Boston, St. Louis and most recently New Orleans, where he is finishing his Ph.D. in educational leadership and counseling foundations. In addition to his new role with UAA, he also serves as the vice chair for networking for the American College Personnel Association's (ACPA) Standing Committee for LGBT Awareness. He looks forward to being a part of the UAA community and helping students maximize their educational experience.

Our new director will officially begin at the Department of Residence Life beginning Monday, Oct. 28. Please join us in welcoming him to the UAA and Anchorage communities!
