The Faculty Technology Center will offer the following workshops the week of Nov. 11-15:

Open Lab Monday, Nov. 11, 9-11 a.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214 or via Blackboard Collaborate

Open lab time for instructors to get assistance from FTC's instructional designers. No registration necessary to attend.

Create a Course Movie Trailer Monday, Nov. 11, 1-2:15 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214

Create an awesome movie trailer introduction for your course using iMovie on either an iPad or Mac computer. Bring photos and video for your course if you have them. Bring the portable device of your choice or plan to use one of the FTC iMacs. Your final product will be submitted to the Sundance Film Festival, or at least showcased on our website (with your consent). Instructors will also show you how to upload the trailer to your Blackboard course.

Lecture Capture 101 Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2:30-3:45 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214 or via Blackboard Collaborate

A lecture capture can be as simple as an audio recording made with an iPod. In a broader sense though, the term also refers to software capture programs that record cursor movement, typing and other on-screen activity. Come explore some of the most popular lecture capture options available.

Campus-Wide Blackboard Upgrades Webinar, hosted by Scott Ready at Blackboard Learn Friday, Nov. 15, 12-1:30 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 214 or via Blackboard Collaborate

As part of the 2013 eTech Fair, the Faculty Technology Center is hosting Scott Ready from Blackboard for a preview of the new and exciting features coming to Blackboard in January 2014. Major changes include a fully functional and updated text editor, deployment features, inline grading and test creation to make all instructors' online course environments easier to manage.
