On-Campus Living Spring Welcome Week, Jan. 13-18

Welcome home to our new and returning UAA residents! UAA's Department of Residence Life, part of UAA's On-Campus Living community, hosts an annual Welcome Week each fall and spring to welcome new and returning students living in the on-campus residence halls and apartments. Spring Welcome Week consists of 14 events and programs. These events are free and open to all students living in the residential community.

Good Morning Seawolves Monday, Jan. 13-Wednesday, Jan. 15, 8:30-10:30 a.m. Gorsuch Commons, Grand Hallway

Grab free hot coffee and to-go snacks on your way to class. Offered three mornings this week.

Warm Up in the Winter: No Sew Crafts Monday, Jan. 13, 6 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Room 107

Come make a new winter accessory. All supplies will be provided.

Puffy Paint and Bleach Pen T-shirt Art Tuesday, Jan. 14, 6 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Room 107

Decorate a plain t-shirt with some flair. All supplies will be provided.

RHA Social: Bags Tournament Wednesday, Jan. 15, 6 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Room 107

This is a great opportunity to mingle with the Residence Hall Association (RHA) executive board and learn more about what RHA does for UAA residents.

Community Meeting Thursday, Jan. 16, 6 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Room TBD

Learn about living on campus, policies residents should be know about and meet others new to the On-Campus Living community.

Sledding at Service Thursday, Jan. 16, 7 p.m. (start) Meet at Gorsuch Commons Fireplace

Dress warm for this annual sledding tradition. Sleds will be provided.

Cookies, Cocoa and Coloring Thursday, Jan. 16, 9:30 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Grand Hallway

Movie Double Feature: "Despicable Me" and "Despicable Me 2" Friday, Jan. 17, 6 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Room 107

Join us for this fun and free double feature. Information about the launch of Residence Life's AY2014-15 job recruitment will be available during intermission, so you can learn how to become a resident advisor or peer mentor in the On-Campus Living community.

Salsa Lesson and Dance Saturday, Jan. 18, 9 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Lower Dining

Join us for chips, salsa and Salsa lessons!

Whether students are returning to campus or living away from home for the first time, the staffs of University Housing, Dining and Conference Services (Housing) and the Department of Residence Life (Residence Life) are here to help, working together to create an individualized experience for our residents. We provide residential students with the on-campus advantage, allowing them to truly connect to fellow students, classes, campus resources, organizations and activities.
