Confucianism helped shape ancient Chinese civilization and still influences many cultures around the world today. Philosophy professor Kristin Helweg Hanson, Ph.D, and Chen Feng of the Confucius Institute will provide an introduction to Confucianism in this prelude to the "Living Ethically in a Global World" international conference coming to UAA March 27-29. World-famous scholar Roger Ames' keynote address at the conference will be "Confucian Role Ethics." A basic knowledge of Confucianism will benefit anyone interested in living ethically in a global world. This session is free and open to the public.
