June 21, 2014: First-aid volunteers needed for Mayor's Marathon

The Mayor's Marathon medical staff is looking for people to volunteer in a first-aid capacity as a medical biker on the marathon and half-marathon racecourses. Volunteer qualifications:

  • Preferably have medical experience and FA/CPR certification or above (e.g., EMT, nurses, medics, doctors, etc.), although not required;
  • Provide your own bicycle and serve as a medical biker along a section of the racecourse; and
  • Commit to volunteer for two to six hours on Saturday, June 21.

All medical biker volunteers receive first-aid kits and a free t-shirt. If you're interested, please email Chris Volk at cavolk@uaa.alaska.edu.
