Kenai Peninsula College celebrates its 50th anniversary.
On July 1, 1964, what is now Kenai Peninsula College (KPC) received a telegram that said the following (the misspelling below is how the telegram actually reads):
Conrad H. Potter Supt Kenai City School District Kenai The Board of Regetns has unaminously approved request of the Kenai School District for University of Alaska Community College Program effective 1 July 1964. Congratulations and best wishes. William R. Wood, President, University of Alaska
