Summer 2014: CES offers yard and garden clinics, sewing classes and open hours

Extended hours The Cooperative Extension Service (CES) Anchorage Office has new summer hours and evening programs. From now until Labor Day, visit during these times:

Mondays and Fridays: 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Open Sew Wednesdays through Aug. 27, 6-9 p.m. CES Anchorage Office (1675 C St., Ste. 100)

This popular summer event opens up the Anchorage Extension Office for crafters of all ages and abilities. Simply show up with your projects, tools and friends.

Summer Shorts Tuesdays through Sept. 5, 5:30-6:30 p.m. CES Anchorage Office (1675 C St., Ste. 100)

In these one-hour sessions, an instructor form CES will offer nutrition and garden tips. Each week covers a different topic.

Yard and Garden Clinics Thursdays through Sept. 5, 5:30-6:30 p.m. CES Anchorage Office (1675 C St., Ste. 100)

Bring your plant identification specimens, pest specimens and/or other questions for Gino, Jessie and Julie. They will help you decide on the best course of action for your outdoor space.
