Expand your cooking repertoire with 'Mother Sauces' and 'Creative Cooking Series' classes

Reserve your seat at our dinner table by enrolling in our popular culinary classes before all the seats are taken. Browse, shop and register at the Continuing Education Department website. Upcoming offerings include:

Mother Sauces ($45) Thursday, Sept. 25, 6-9 p.m. Anchorage Lutheran Church (1420 N St.)

There is nothing like the perfect classical sauce for a variety of foods. Learn to make hollandaise, bechamel, veloute and tomato sauces that will please crowds. We'll serve them up with a great pairing of protein or pasta so you can taste them all. Led by instructor Carlyle Watt.

Creative Cooking Series ($159) Saturdays, Sept. 27, Oct. 4 and 11, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. St. Mark Lutheran Church (3230 Lake Otis Pkwy.)

This fun 15-hour class will cover preparing delicious appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts. This is a great class for teens, college students or anyone who just wants to get in the kitchen and be creative. Fee includes all materials, supplies and recipes. Led by instructor Paul Marmora.
