Dana Sample now the associate director of Student Union & Commuter Student Services

"Dear Colleagues,

I recently realigned roles and responsibilities in the Student Union & Commuter Student Services area. As a result of these changes, I am pleased to announce that the position held by Dana Sample has changed to associate director of Student Union & Commuter Student Services.

Dana joined UAA in July 2011 as the Student Union Operations Coordinator. During her time with the Student Union, she has made significant contributions to the program. A few highlights of include: advancing the department's strategic and long-range planning; expanding the student leadership development program; providing exemplary customer service to the university community; leading the department in the CAS Self Study and Prioritization review projects; and increasing revenue through initiative funding and facility/event promotion.

In addition, Dana has served in various leadership roles at UAA and within national professional organizations including the Student Affairs Assessment Team, NCBI, Safe-Zone, UAA Building Managers, Auxiliary Emergency Response Team, UAA Master Planning Committee, Accreditation Core Theme IV Evaluation Team and ACUI Women's Leadership Community of Practice.

Dana is highly regarded at UAA by students, staff, faculty and community members, and I am confident she will continue as an exceptional leader for Student Union & Commuter Student Services.
