Thanksgiving 2014: Rolling list of departments closing early

UAA will be closed Nov. 27-28 for Thanksgiving. Please see below for the list of departments closing early for the holiday weekend. Closures will be added to this list and the UAA master calendar as they're announced. To add your department, email the details to uaa_news@uaa.alaska.edu.

Alaska Airlines Center fitness center - Closing Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. The fitness center at the Alaska Airlines Center will close Nov. 25 at 4 p.m. for the Great Alaska Shootout and the normal UAA holidays. The fitness center will re-open for normal business at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1.

Athletics office - Closing early Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. The UAA Athletics office in the Alaska Airlines Center will close at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, so staff can participate in the GCI Great Alaska Shootout Tip-Off Luncheon. Thank you.

Conference Services - Closing Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. Conference Services will close early Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m. Business hours will resume Monday, Dec. 1, at 7:30 a.m. For questions regarding reservations for the Gorsuch Commons conference rooms, Lucy Cuddy Hall, Wendy Williamson Auditorium or classroom availability, please contact us before or after the Thanksgiving holiday by calling (907) 751-7273 or (907) 751-7213.

Enrollment Services - Closing Nov. 26 at 5 p.m. The offices of Admissions, Registration and Student Financial Assistance will close an hour early at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Environmental Health and Safety and Risk Management Support - Closing Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. Environmental Health and Safety and Risk Management Support will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and will re-open at 8 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1. As usual, you can contact the department at ehsrms@uaa.alaska.edu or (907) 786-1300. These points of contact go to all EHSRMS employees and they will be monitored. At least one staff member will be on call 24/7 during the closure.

Facilities Work Management - Closing Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. The Facilities Work Management office will close Nov. 26 at 11 a.m. for the holiday. Please contact UPD at (907) 786-1120 for any emergency maintenance needs.

General Support Services - Closing Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. The Seawolf Postal Express (mailroom) counter will accept mail until noon on Nov. 26. There will be no afternoon mail routes on this day. The Mailroom, Surplus and Copy & Print Center will close at 1 p.m. for the holiday weekend. We will re-open Monday, Dec. 1, at 8:30 a.m.

Human Resource Services - Closing Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. Human Resource Services will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Learning Resources Center - Closed Nov. 26-29 Student academic support services located within the UAA Learning Resources Center (LRC) will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 26, through Saturday, Nov. 29. These services include: the LRC Math Lab, Writing Center, Center for Language Learning, Learning Skills Lab, open computer lab, study dens, open study and CTC Advising Center.

Full-time administrators and staff will be on duty in the LRC through 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26. All services and programs will return to their regular schedules on Sunday, Nov. 30. Parking Services - Closing Nov. 26 at 1 p.m.; no permit enforcement Nov. 27-30 Parking Services will close at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26, and will re-open at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 1.

Parking permits will not be enforced Wednesday, Nov. 26-Sunday, Nov. 30. Permit enforcement will resume Monday, Dec 1, at 7:30 a.m. All signed areas such as loading zones, brown permit spaces, ADA (handicap) and fire lanes will still be enforced as posted.

Seawolf Shuttles - No service Nov. 26-28 Please remember there will be no UAA Seawolf Shuttles operating Wednesday (Nov. 26), Thursday (Nov. 27) and Friday (Nov. 28), as classes will not be in session. Our staff wishes each of our riders and all of UAA a safe, happy Thanksgiving!

Student Health and Counseling Center - Closing Nov. 26 at noon The UAA Student Health and Counseling Center will be open Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 8 a.m.-noon only. The clinic will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday break, Nov. 27-28. Normal hours will resume Monday, Dec. 1, at 8 a.m.

UAA Campus Bookstore - Closing Nov. 26 at 1 p.m. The UAA Campus Bookstore will be open Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The bookstore will then be closed over the holiday weekend, Nov. 27-30, and will re-open with regular hours Monday, Dec. 1.

UAA Perk (in the University Center) - Closing Nov. 26 at noon UAA Perk, the coffee shop in the University Center, will be open Wednesday, Nov. 26, 7:45 a.m.-noon. It will then be closed over the holiday weekend, Nov. 27-30, and will re-open with regular hours Monday, Dec. 1.

University Center Bookstore - Closing Nov. 26 at 12:30 p.m. The University Center Bookstore will be open Wednesday, Nov. 26, 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. The bookstore will then be closed over the holiday weekend, Nov. 27-30, and will re-open with regular hours Monday, Dec. 1.
