Nov. 14, 2014: William J. Dobson presents 'The New Faces of Democracy Today'

William J. Dobson is the politics and foreign affairs editor for Slate Magazine. He is also the author of the book, The Dictator's Learning Curve: Inside the Global Battle for Democracy--considered among the best books of 2012 by Foreign Affairs, The Atlantic, Sunday Telegraph and Prospect magazine. The New York Times wrote, "Mr. Dobson's book, with luck, will find its way into the hands of people who aspire to be free."

This event is co-sponsored by the UAA Campus Bookstore and the Alaska World Affairs Council. Dobson will deliver an additional talk, "Are Dictators Getting Smarter? The Battle Between Dictatorship and Democracy," beginning at noon Nov. 14 at the Hilton Hotel downtown.
