'Ton in Ten' drive collects more than 3,000 pounds of peanut butter and jelly

by Michelle Saport  |

The ninth annual "Ton in Ten" peanut butter and jelly drive has come to a close with an amazing turnout: 3,055 pounds of food was collected over the course of the event. Special thanks go to Parking Services for collecting 1,702 pounds of peanut butter and jelly in exchange for parking tickets.

Smaller jars will be donated to the UAA Student Health & Counseling Center's Emergency Food Cache, which has benefitted more than 200 students in the past academic year. The rest of the jars will be donated to local organizations to help feed the community.

Thank you to everyone who participated!
