Two audition options: Friday, Feb. 6, 7 p.m. (start) Fine Arts Building, Room 129

Sunday, Feb. 8, 2 p.m. (start) Fine Arts Building, Room 129

The UAA Department of Theatre and Dance is pleased to announce auditions for the final production of our 2014-15 season, "William Shakespeare's Land of the Dead," a comedy in five bites, directed by Tom Skore.

The premiere of "Henry V" is just concluding at the Globe Theatre when some "deranged individual" bites a company member just outside the theatre. Before the evening is over, Sir Francis Bacon, Will Kemp and even Queen Elizabeth herself will show up at the Globe, as well as throngs of deranged individuals, all pounding on the door. Why? Has the whole town gone mad?!

Rich with historical characters, not to mention comic, clever, frightening and well-written... it's definitely a script actors can sink their teeth into. If Shakespeare, zombies, sword fights and some funny possibilities as to how some of the Bard's greatest plays came to be appeal to you, join us for cold readings in the Harper Studio Theatre (Fine Arts Building, Room 129).

Readings will begin promptly at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8. Scripts are available for checkout in the Fine Arts building, Room 302 (with a small deposit). If you have questions, call Tom Skore, director, at (907) 786-1740. Roles are available for 10 men and two women of all age ranges, plus zombies. Lots of zombies.

"Shakespeare's Land of the Dead" premieres April 10 on the UAA Mainstage in the Fine Arts Building and will run for three weekends. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. For ticket information, please visit UAATix.com or call the Fine Arts Box Office at (907) 786-4TIX.

Parking on campus is free Friday-Sunday.
