Spring 2015: On-Campus Living Spring Welcome Week

Welcome home to our new and returning UAA residents. UAA's Department of Residence Life, part of UAA's On-Campus Living community, hosts an annual Welcome Week each fall and spring to welcome new and returning students living in the on-campus residence halls and apartments. These events are free and open to students living in our residential community.

Community Meeting Sunday, Jan. 11, 8 p.m. (start) Gorsuch Commons, Room 107 Are you a new On-Campus Living resident or a returning resident? Please plan to attend the Community Meeting for news and updates. Presented by Residence Life.

Good Morning Seawolves Monday through Thursday, Jan. 12-15, 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m. Gorsuch Commons, Grand Hallway Calling all On-Campus Living residents! Stop by the Commons for a hot drink and a sweet treat on the way to class. Presented by Residence Life and University Dining.

Spiked Cocoa! Monday through Thursday, Jan. 12-15, 1:30-4:30 p.m. Residence Life Office (MAC 6-103) Are you an On-Campus Living resident? Visit us for hot cocoa and a free pair of spikeys to keep you on your feet in icy weather. Presented by Residence Life.

Hand Towel Handout with Policy Review Monday, Jan. 12, 6-8 p.m. Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room There are rules for living on campus, and it's a good idea to review them. Show us what you remember and receive a free hand towel for your efforts. Presented by the Alaska Native & Rural Outreach Program (ANROP) and Residence Life.

Dough Mixing Tuesday, Jan. 13, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room Everyone has a recipe for fry bread. There's no right or wrong one. Learn to mix a recipe often used in the Cama-i Room. Presented by the Alaska Native & Rural Outreach Program (ANROP) and Residence Life.

Cama-i Room Fry Bread Social Tuesday, Jan. 13, 6:30-8:30 p.m. Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room You bring your hands; we'll provide the dough. Fry yourself a piece of bread and enjoy a variety of provided toppings. Presented by the Alaska Native & Rural Outreach Program (ANROP) and Residence Life.

All Tangled Up Tuesday, Jan. 13, 9:30-11:30 p.m. Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room Crocheting, knitting, finger knitting... Furry Flowers Wednesday, Jan. 14, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room It will be a while before you can stop and smell the real roses thanks to our Alaskan winters, so why not make roses out of fur? Presented by the Alaska Native & Rural Outreach Program (ANROP) and Residence Life.

"The Lego Movie" Friday, Jan. 16, 6-8 p.m. Gorsuch Commons, Canary Room Everything is awesome! Join us for movie theater treats and a free showing of "The Lego Movie." This event will feature a very special announcement about jobs available in the On-Campus Living community for the fall 2015-spring 2016 year! Presented by Residence Life.
