'A New Concept of Chinese Music: Merging Traditional Songs with Pop Trends' demonstration, practice and workshop – March 24

Join Xiaohua Zhao for two on-campus events centered around the topic, "A New Concept of Chinese Music: Merging Traditional Songs with Pop Trends."

Xiaohua Zhao is a renowned soprano vocalist in China. She is the guest professor of Minzu University of China and Beijing National University. Professor Zhao got her diplômé supérieur de concertiste de chant (vocal concert degree) from Historique de l'Ecole Normale de Musique (National School of Music of Paris) in France.

Demonstration and Practice Tuesday, March 24, 12-1:30 p.m. Eugene Short Hall, Room 101

Learn about Chinese Music and get some practice with Professor Zhao. No musical experience is necessary to enjoy this demonstration.

Chinese Song Workshop Tuesday, March 24, 6-7 p.m. Beatrice McDonald Hall, Room 118

Professor Zhao will give a one-of-a-kind workshop on Chinese songs. Musical ability is not a prerequisite. Have some fun learning Chinese songs. This is also a wonderful way for Chinese language learners to study and learn Chinese.
