'Evaluating Commonly Recommended Strategies for Teaching Typically Developing Infants and Toddlers,' April 17
by Michelle Saport |
Friday, April 17, 7-9 p.m. UAA/APU Consortium Library, Room 307
Paige McKerchar, Ph.D., guest lecturer from Jackson State University, will present her research about the application of behavior analysis to young children and individuals.
Abstract: "Despite their widespread use, several commonly recommended strategies for teaching typically developing infants and toddlers, including sign language training and contingent praise, have limited empirical support for use with young children. My presentation includes evaluations of the effects of various teaching strategies on infant and toddler behavior, and the results speak to the ongoing need for assessment of early childhood practices."
McKerchar will also present a workshop as part of this year's Behavioral Sciences Conference of the North.
