Emerging Leaders Program accepting applications through Sept. 11

by Michelle Saport  |

The UAA Emerging Leaders Program (ELP) is a three-semester program with three levels of learning that build upon each other. Throughout all levels, students participate in retreats, workshops, community engagement opportunities, speaker series and mentor opportunities. Using a co-curriculum program model, ELP is aimed at developing and enhancing leadership skills and competencies of all students across campus through self-assessment, learning and practice opportunities. ELP will help students be accomplished in the classroom, competitive in the work force and civic-minded in their communities.

Application deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, 2015.

If accepted into the program, the first required retreat is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Upon successful completion of all levels, students also receive a permanent Leadership Distinction and notation in their academic transcript upon graduation from UAA.

This is your opportunity to make new friends, build up your resume and learn skills required to enact social change.

For more information and application materials, please visit the ELP website. If you have any additional questions, please email uaa_elp@uaa.alaska.edu, call Assistant Director of Leadership Paula Fish at (907) 786-1371 or visit Student Union, Room 218.
