Nov. 4, 2015: Free, interactive SBIRT training for staff and faculty

The Center for Behavioral Health Research and Services' Arctic-SBIRT Training is pleased to offer a free interactive Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) workshop to UAA faculty and staff.

This workshop will enable the participant to:

  • Describe what SBIRT is and its purpose;
  • Conduct a screening for alcohol use using a standardized screening tool;
  • Describe and conduct a brief intervention using Motivational Interviewing core skills and concepts; and
  • Discuss referral to treatment and other avenues of support.

Training emphasis will be placed on practice and interactive role-play.
