Great Alaska Shakeout 2015

by Michelle Saport  |

This Thursday, at 10:15 a.m., UAA will participate in the nationwide earthquake readiness drill. Research shows a majority of injuries occurring from earthquakes in the U.S. result from falling debris. To protect ourselves during a significant quake, we should get under a sturdy table or desk if possible and hold onto it as it moves.

On our campuses at 10:15 a.m. on 10/15, the UAA Emergency Manager will test our emergency alerting system and announce that it's time to "Drop, cover and hold on!" Please participate in this Great Alaska Shakeout, and learn to survive the next big earthquake.
