UAA will celebrate National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week (NCAAW) with a series of informative and social events Oct. 19-24. See the complete schedule below.

Main campus events Know Your Power-Bring In The Bystander Tuesday, Oct. 20, 12-2 p.m. | Rasmuson Hall, Lobby An interactive discussion about alcohol, drugs and safety. With amazing snacks of apples, EmergenC packs and emergency potato chips (small bags).

Alcoholics Anonymous meeting Every Monday and Wednesday at 4 p.m. | Eugene Short Hall, Room 214

Yield to Responsible Choices Thursday, Oct. 22, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. | Social Science Building, Lobby Learn what responsible drinking is and what resources are available on campus.

FASD 101 workshop Saturday, Oct. 24, 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. | Rasmuson Hall, Room 117 Free workshop about Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders. Anyone may attend. Those who finish the training will receive a certificate of completion.

Residence Life events Alcohol Fast Facts Monday, Oct. 19-Friday, Oct. 23 | West Hall Get thinking about alcohol. Learn about the adverse effects of drinking and safety when you are around alcohol. Read posted facts about alcohol consumption, proofs and how to protect yourself.

Leave Your Mark Monday, Oct. 19, 5-7:30 p.m. | Gorsuch Commons, Hallway Let's learn from each other. Share the healthy habits you practice when consuming alcohol. Also, share how alcohol has negatively affected your life and the people around you.

Shot of Reality Tuesday, Oct. 20, 7-9 p.m. | Gorsuch Commons, Lobby Come enjoy a shot of hot chocolate and learn about responsible drinking.

"How Much is a Drink" - Healthy Voices, Healthy Choices Tuesday, Oct. 20, 7-9 p.m. | Gorsuch Commons, Lobby How much is an actual shot, a beer or a glass of wine? Come find out.

Drunk Ping-Pong Tuesday, Oct. 20, 9 p.m. | North Hall, Lobby Residents are invited to attempt sobriety tests and games of Ping-Pong while wearing drunk goggles. Learn how alcohol use affects your mobility.

Laugh and Learn with Theo Wednesday, Oct. 21, 6:30--7:30 p.m. | Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room Theo is a funny storyteller. Listen to his stories that involve alcohol and what he's learned from it all.

Don't Get Sloppy: Mocktails and Art Wednesday, Oct. 21, 7 p.m. | MAC Shack Sip a mocktail while creating painted art. Canvases, paint and beverages will be provided.

Prize Blackout Bingo Thursday, Oct. 22, 6-7:30 p.m. | Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room Blackouts due to alcohol use occur when large amounts are consumed quickly, creating a rapid rise in blood alcohol content (BAC). Learn more about this while playing Blackout Bingo for prizes.

It's Just Ducky To Say "No!" Thursday, Oct. 22, 9 p.m. | Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room Practice saying "no" when someone pressures you to drink alcohol. Win a cute rubber ducky for your effort.

The Pint of No Return Friday, Oct. 23, 5 p.m. | East Hall, Lobby Enjoy a non-alcoholic drink while learning facts about the UAA Alcohol Policy such as, "On-campus residents who are a minimum of 21 years of age are allowed to possess and consume limited quantities of alcoholic beverages in certain apartments or suites in accordance with Department of Residence Life policies."

Drunk Dance Revolution Friday, Oct. 23, 6 p.m. | North Hall, Second Floor Lounge Wear drunk-simulation goggles and play a dancing video game. Also, learn about the dangers and risks that college students face when it comes to alcohol.

Daily Dilemmas Friday, Oct. 23, 9-11:30 p.m. | Gorsuch Commons, Cama-i Room It's important to reflect on healthy ways to deal with the daily stress we encounter. Come play the dice game 10,000 and fill out a worksheet on how you cope with stress.
