The Association of Fundraising Professionals Alaska Chapter recently named Beth Johnson, CFRE, development officer for the UAA College of Arts and Sciences, as the 2015 Outstanding Professional in Philanthropy.

Nominated by her peers and selected by the Association of Fundraising Professional Alaska Chapter Board of Directors, Beth has been actively involved with nonprofits and the fundraising arena for the past 20 years, with more than 10 years of development experience in Alaska. As a CFRE, Beth also has achieved one of the highest levels of fundraising certification.

"Beth is not only a member in AFP but has championed the AFP Alaska Chapter. Beth served on the AFP Alaska Chapter Board for eight years, including as chapter president. Under her leadership, AFP Alaska earned the status of Ten Star Gold, a high level of distinction that is awarded to only a fraction of AFP chapters internationally. To achieve this level, Beth ensured that AFP conducted presentations on ethical principles and standards, and other key topics to advance the professional practice of fundraisers," says nominator and past AFP Alaska Chapter President Beth Rose.

Beth will receive the award at the the 27th Annual Alaska Philanthropy Day Award Luncheon on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Dena'ina Convention Center.
