Gone too soon: Honoring a WWAMI student's life

A tragic kayaking accident claimed the life of WWAMI student Xavier Engle last year. His classmates and faculty, with input from Engle's mother and his life partner, created a scholarship award to help other Alaska WWAMI students and honor his memory.

UAA snuffs out tobacco use on campus starting Nov. 19, 2015

UAA goes smoke- and tobacco-free Nov. 19, the same day as the American Cancer Society’s Great American Smokeout. UAA celebrates with student activities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at various locations on campus.
