Spring 2016: Dr. Alex Hills Engineering & Civic Engagement Award

by Michelle Saport  |

The Center for Community Engagement & Learning (CCEL) seeks proposals from UAA undergraduate engineering students for this year's Dr. Alex Hills Engineering & Civic Engagement Award.

Engineering students are encouraged to apply for this $2,500 award to use their engineering knowledge and practice for the benefit of society. Students may apply individually or in teams, but either application requires a faculty mentor.

The award recipient(s) will conduct a community-engaged learning project that solves engineering and technology-based problems in partnership with a local organization, under the supervision of an engineering faculty member. The application deadline is Friday, Jan. 29, 2016.

For details and application materials, please see the Center for Community Engagement & Learning (CCEL) website or call (907) 786-4062.
