The Center for Corporate and Professional Development presents a one day course, Strategic Lean Thinking, with Patrick Anderson on Feb. 26, 2016.

Course Description:

A paradigm shift has occurred in management practices in the United States, starting in manufacturing, moving to health care and now being introduced into government and education.

This seminar is an introduction for executives to a system of management practice often referred to as "Lean Thinking." We will discuss the role of executives as a Strategic Development and Implementation Team.

At the end of this seminar you will:

  • Understand the history of Lean Thinking and its development
  • Learn basic lean operational techniques using simulations
  • Develop a strategy for introducing Lean Thinking to an organization
  • Appreciate the role of culture change in employee acceptance of Lean Thinking
  • Have practiced how to create flow, pull systems and standard work
  • Learned the purpose and role of an A-3
  • Understand the concept of Hoshin Kanri
  • Discussed how to assemble and train a lean facilitation staff
